The gentle pace allows time for poses to unfold gracefully and peacefully while offering mild challenges.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM RETREAT CULTURE?
-
Retreaters range in age, physical activity level, yoga experience and travel experience
-
Our intention for guiding retreats is to offer a space for healing and connection. This means we will be open to one another, respectful of each other’s comforts and needs
-
The demographic of people that come are people that want to dive deep in their own yoga practice, connect with like minded spirits and explore healing modalities
-
The kind of space that is offered on retreat and through yoga practice can be opening, offer clarity, guide deeper connection and it can also be uncomfortable, or emotionally inducing. All of that is welcome and you are supported exactly how you would like to be
-
We encourage an alcohol and substance free retreat
-
There will be lots of playfulness too! We will weave in and out of laughter, play, curiosity and adventure
THE FOOD
Nourishment for body and soul
ENTICE AND PAMPER YOUR SENSES
Indulge your senses and delight in the flavors crafted by Nayarit’s own Chef Jorge Miramontes.
The menu is inspired by Mexican tradition and elevated by sourcing of organic, local and wild ingredients. The kitchen cooks without seed-oils, opting instead for ghee, avocado oil and rendered fat as well as incorporating house made lacto-fermented foods, sourdough bread and kombucha.
The result is the most healthful and distinctive culinary experience in the area.
The bar at La Joya has brought together local experts to create a menu of exciting non-alcoholic options - all of which use the highest quality local ingredients to create unique, fresh and delicious taste experiences.
Enjoy your meals with the best views of the coast, regular whale sightings and year-round sunsets, and prepare for a unique and unforgettable dining experience.

YOUR RETREAT HOSTS
Meet Sarah Pascual & Amanda Shea
Sarah Pascual
In practicing and teaching yoga, Sarah was introduced to the value of slowing down and creating space to notice thoughts and sensations in a mindful way. This yin style of yoga allowed her to really go deep into relaxation in a way that she had never experienced before. In that depth of rest she has found so much healing on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level. On retreat with Sarah you will get a good dose of this "depth of rest" she speaks about.
Sarah has been teaching yoga and mindfulness for 15 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her passion for travel and group facilitating has kept her retreat business in full bloom for 10 years. Her teachings pull from a wide tapestry of mind-body healing modalities that she's studied: Hatha, Restorative, Yin and Satya yoga, Holistic Massage Therapy, Subtle Body Energy Work, Self-Inquiry and Soul-Based Coaching. She gracefully and methodically weaves these teachings together with deliberate attention to what her students may need, guiding them towards a more conscious connection to body, heart and spirit. Sarah's warm and welcoming energy is felt and allows you to show up exactly how you are, she believes through practice one can create flow, authenticity, grace and ease on and off the mat, inevitably pouring out into all aspects of life. Sarah can't wait to share this special experience with you in Sayulita, Mexico!
Amanda Shea
Amanda found her love for yoga and travel after attending her first yoga retreat with Sarah in Costa Rica. Currently based in Sayulita, Mexico, her passion for hosting and hospitality is evident in the way she cares for her students and retreat guest. As our Happiness Concierge, she is here for you from the begging to the end, helping with planning and coordinating your travel, making sure you pack all the essentials, ensuring your dietary needs are met, organizing your excursions and/or body work appointments, to offering hands on touch and adjustments in the yoga classroom.
Her desire is to help you make the most out of your retreat experience, by taking the stress of planning and organizing off your plate, you are able to land and drop in as soon as you arrive. She is here to hold space, offer assistance and guidance should anything come up during your stay, and always extending her warmth and kindness through her smile. She truly thrives in taking care of people, and her goal is to make your retreat experience the best it can be. What really sparks her spirit is the healing and nourishment she’s received and experienced in her personal experiences on retreat, and her goal is to hold space and create the ease and flow for you to have the same opportunity to rest, receive and heal.
